Cardztv Sketch Challenge Seven

Hi crafty friends!

Are you ready for another one of
Cardztv Sketch Challenges??

Keep in mind the sketches are to start
your creative mojo!  You don't have to follow them
exactly, but use them for inspiration.

I used Sketch 12 but turned the squares on the front
so the front square would accommodate by
set of trees.  I used an embossing resist technique that
I saw on a YouTube video and I loved it so
much I wanted to recreate it.

I embossed the set of trees with clear embossing ink
and clear powder.  Then I used some Tim Holtz blue distress ink
and began sponging in the center of my trees and to
the outside.  I made sure that I got out all the way so
all of the trees would show up.  I added some white gel
pen dots to look like snow and some sequins for sparkle.

What you cannot see is the sparkle mist I sprayed
lightly on the trees.  Close up it is stunning.

Here is the same card on my tree!

I love using non-traditional colors for Christmas.
I am over the moon for this plaid.

My stamp set is the Big Holiday Wishes set!
Love these larger fonts - perfect finish on the front
on it's own banner stamped with black ink!

Are you ready to try your hand at a sketch challenge?
Head over to Cardztv and leave a link to your project.
You have until December 29th!

I can't wait to see your creation!

Cardztv Sketch Challenge - Dec 2

I have to confess.  I LOVE MARY'S SKETCHES!

Why?  Mary has done all the thinking for me.  All I have
to do is pick out my papers, images and sentiments.
The rest has been done for me!

Before Mary even created her wonderful stamps, I was
an avid fan of her YouTube channel.  I had a notebook and I was
always writing down the dimensions of each layer so I could recreate
what she was showing.  Now we have the sketches, that she
has already put together and the dimensions WORK!

This week we are challenging you to use sketch 7 or 8.

I chose sketch 8 (it's one of my favs!)

I had a total knee replacement almost 3 months ago so I find my
evenings are more relaxing while I'm recuperating.  I love to color so
I have many images that I have colored and cut out.  I have them in
a large "pill" container so when I want to create a card I have
the images ready.  This is so fun!!!

Here is a closer look.  I used Winter Cheer Stamp set
from Cardztv.  This set has so many terrific sentiments - it's
perfect for the cold winter months.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I have inspired you to
create your own card with Mary's sketches.

You have until December 15th to enter and link your
card on Cardztv website.

Thank you for stopping by!

Cardztv Sketch Challenge - Create a Thanksgiving card using sketch 5 or 6

It's time for another fun sketch challenge!

Today the Designers for Cardztv is making
cards using sketch 5 or 6 as their inspiration.

Join us on this fun challenge to create your
own card using Mary's sketches.

I have an egg die and I used it to
create my pumpkin.  I cut three "eggs", inked the edges
and glued them together to create a pumpkin.
I used a scrap of brown cardstock for the stem
and added some greenery cut with a
Martha Stewart punch and a ribbon.

I used two other dies to cut the circle under
the pumpkin and a smaller scalloped circle
to stamp the sentiment.

Using the layer sizes according to sketch
6 that set the stage for making the
pumpkin the centerpiece of this card.

The sentiment comes from Thankful for You!
I did cut it apart so it would fit on my
circle, but no issue, it will work fine the
next time if I need the sentiment
in a straight line.

Okay, now it's time for you to join the fun!

Link up your card by December 1, 2016
to see if you are the luck winner of
a set of Cardztv Stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardztv Sketch Challenge #4

I hope you are enjoying our
sketch challenges!  This week, Mary has ask
use to create a Thank you card using sketch 9 or 10.

You know one of the best things about
using the sketches?  Mary has done all
the thinking for you.  All the measuring
is done if you just follow her sketch.  Of course
you can always use the sketch for inspiration
and do something on your own.

For my card, I used Sketch 10.
I used a PNG file, printed it out and cut with
my Silhouette!  I love print and cut!

My sentiment on the outside of the card comes
from Favorite Phrases.  On the inside of my black
card base, I layered a white piece of card stock and used
Heartfelt Wishes.

During the season of the year where we should
be most thankful, this design will work anytime
of the year!

You have until November 17th to create your
own Thank you card and add it to the
challenge link at Cardztv.

Thank you for stopping by!

Cardztv Sketch Challenge #3

Are you having fun yet with our sketch challenges?

I know I am loving them.
Welcome to Sketch Challenge #3 for
Cardztv Stamps.  For this challenge, Mary has
asked that we use sketch 4 or 5 and make a
Halloween card.

Keep in mind the sketches are to get your
creative juices flowing.  You CAN follow the sketch
exactly or you can use it for inspiration.

I chose sketch 5 but I changed it up a bit.
I made pointed banners of the three panels
and I placed the sentiment in a different location.

I used the Frankly Frightful Stamp Set.

I used an print and cut image from the Silhouette
store for the center of my card.  I have a die cut in the shape
of a bat and added two.  I broke out my Black
Diamond Stickles to the bats for a little punch.

Don't you love this little crow??  My card
is being sent to California to my sweet granddaughter
Sloane!  She will love it!

You have until noon EST, Thursday, November 3, 2016 to post
your name and a link to your sketch card creation on Cardzt blog.
This is your chance to link up your creation and have the
opportunity to win a set of Cardztv stamps or Die Cuts!

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!

Cardztv Sketch Challenge #2

It's so good to be back!

I cannot believe that the last time I posted on my
blog was at the end of May, but when I think about our
summer it was a whirl wind.  Whew!  Welcome fall!

I am especially excited to be starting another term
with the Cardztv Design Team.  I like to think
"I knew Mary when......"  Ha ha!

I have followed Mary for years, even before she had
a stamp line.  I was an avid fan of her videos as I believe
she truly taught me my craft.  I still watch her videos as soon
as they are posted and I'm thrilled to be one of
her designers.  I kept a notebook by my computer
writing down the dimensions as she would share so
I could recreate her card.  She always had unique ideas
for her cards and they always looked awesome.

Last year Mary started something new called
Sketches!  Basically this was what I was writing
down in my notebook, but now she has them on
her blog for everyone to download the sketch picture
which has all the dimensions.  LOVE IT!

You can have sketches cut out and ready to go
in envelopes and pull them out when you need a
card personalizing it at that time instead of
having it made up ahead of time.

Here is my card!

The cute little mouse is a print & cut from the Silhouette
Store.  I printed 3 pieces and glued them together giving them
more dimension.  I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink
on the edges of all patterned paper.  I like to cover the white
edges.  I even inked a little around the mouse.

If you struggle as I have with selecting papers
that go together - use a paper pad as many of them
are themed and coordinate beautifully.  I used Glossy
Accents on the nose and eyes of the mouse and a little
Wink of Stella pen on the features.

I used Stampin Up Chocolate Chip ink to stamp
the sentiment on my banner.  My sentiment comes from
THANKFUL FOR YOU!

Here is a quick video I did on my phone.
Pardon the shaky picture!

Okay now it's your turn to be creative.  The challenge starts at
8am on October 7 and runs until October 20.
Remember to use Sketch 3 or 4 and post your
creation on Cardztv Website.  By entering the challenge, you have
a chance to WIN a set of Cardztv Stamps!

I will be checking back all week to see what you have come up with!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardztv 3D Challenge - Anything Goes!

Welcome to my blog today!
I am featuring a lovely
2 layer card and when you look at it
you may think "where's the 3D?"

I have started to use a product called Fun Foam
that you can purchase from Amazon or even from the
craft store.  I have a full layer of foam (instead of small pieces
of foam tape) under the one layer.
By using this full layer of foam, I find
that my cards mail better and make it
to their destination without damage.

Look how pretty these cards turned out!

SIMPLE THOUGHTS is one of my all time favorite
sentiment stamp sets from Cardztv Stamps!
Just look at that stunning font!

Again, even though you cannot see the foam layer
it makes a nice smooth surface and the dimension
that is perfect for a two layer card.

Do you like it?

If you are just starting the Blog Hop with me,
here's the full line up of all
my crafty friends!

BLOG HOP LINE UP:

Make sure you go to Cardztv blog to
leave your comments!  Mary is giving away
two sets of Cardztv stamps.

I fully believe when you have some awesome
sentiment stamps, you can create anything!

Teacher Treats - Cardztv 3D Challenge

I have a heart for teachers!  Love them!
They have to have patience beyond normal and do
what many of us moms could never do!

Here in Indiana/Michigan, our teachers and kids
still have a summer break of about 2 1/2 months.

With the Cardztv 3D challenge, I decided instead of a
"treat", I would make a mini album and
give to a well deserving teacher.  This way they can chronicle
their summer fun and have the album already
put together.

Here are three snapshots but look below
as I've added in a quick video showing you more
detail and the exact Cardztv Stamp set that I used.

Here's the video!

Okay, now it's your turn to make a
gift for a teacher!  Pick someone who could
really use a pick me up!  They will love their
treat!  Don't forget to click on all
of my Cardztv Design Team Sisters links!
They are all so talented!

Thanks for stopping!

Easter 3D treats!

On my Instagram feed the other day
I saw this cute little
bunny die that was too cute for
words and I knew I had to have him.
He is from Lil' Inkers.  He cut beautifully
in my Cuttlebug and just so you know, I have
about 70 of these to make for work, but
I'm sharing with you now.

Isn't he the cutest????
I did use a Peachy Keen face, but
there are faces that come
in the die set.

Here's a basket FULL of bunnies!

I used two sets of Cardztv Stamps,
EASTER PUNNIES & GOING IN CIRCLES

I used Easter Punnies on the banner tag
and Going in Circles under the candy.

Hop on over to Cardztv Stamps
to pick up your new stamps today!

Now you have until March 31 to link
up your own 3D Easter box or goodie bag
on Mary's site.

I can't wait to see what you create!

SPRING! I can't wait!

Hi all you Cardztv fans!
I am excited about Spring and even with
snow on the ground, I know it's coming.

The 3D Challenge for this week is
a spring home decor product and I'm so
excited to show you mine!

I used the Cardztv St. Patrick's Day stamp set
to create my tissue box cover for spring.
I cut the largest saying apart, placing it
exactly where I wanted it to go
and divided it into two panels.

Here's the first panel.

Here's the second Panel.

I added in some shamrock die cuts
and sequins and my project is done!

Look at this awesome set!

I apologize for my dark photos!
No sun here in Indiana (we have snow and ice).

Make sure you add your 3D spring home decor
project over on Cardztv.blogspot.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardztv 3D Valentine's Challenge

I am so excited to be back
from our hiatus over the holidays.
I have wonderful new Cardztv Stamp set to
share with you today and I teamed it up
with some of Mary's earlier stamp sets.

I just love my little mailbox!  It is cut with my Silhouette
and it was so easy!  This set is featuring the LOVE YA set
that has just been released!  I used two of the sentiments
on this project along with a few sentiments from
SNAIL MAIL.  These two sets were the perfect
compliment to each other.

Below is the bare box before I started
decorating it.  I used a few of my favorite
heart dies to cut out a variety of sizes
to use on the mailbox.

I love the flag!!!

Remember those mint Hershey kisses left
over from Christmas?  Well they fit
perfectly in a bag for my sweet gift!

I couldn't resist decorating the front of
the mailbox.

Every mailbox needs a love note!
I used a rectangular die to cut out
my post card.  Tim Holtz distress inks
did an awesome job of making this
vintage postcard come alive.

I hope you like my Valentine's Gift Box for my
sweetie.  I know he will like it.

Now make sure you head over to the
Cardztv blog and enter your own project
for the chance to win a set of Mary's stamps.

From February 5, 2016 - February 18, 2016
you have a chance to win!  Let's have some fun!
I can't wait to see what you create.
