Back to School!

If you are looking for Cardztv Color Me Happy Challenge,
please scroll down.
It dosen't seem possible that my
two grandsons will soon be back at
school.  They both LOVE the summer as they
love the summer activities they participate.  My sweet daugther-in-law
doesn't seem to get a rest as much of
the busyness of summer falls on
her shoulder.  As a teacher, she is back to school
too.  I made cards for the boys to
send some encouragement.
The first card was made for my youngest grandson.  As
a mom, I was always the MOST worried about what
the boys were learning on the bus!
For you Cricut fans, the bus is from Nate's ABC's and it's
cut at 2.5 inches.  You could easily make this
bigger for using on a scrapbook layout.
I'm not sure if you can see but I used
Glossy Accents on all the windows for a "glass like" look.
The papers came from a grade school mat stack.
Sorry I can't recall the name.
The sentiment comes from Cardztv Stamps
and it's called School Days!  What a great set!

The second card is for my oldest grandson.  I've posted it before
so I won't go into detail on it.  I really
do LOVE that pencil!
Well that's all for now!  Check
back this weekend for the Cardztv Brew Ha Ha
Blog Hop!  This will be so much fun!

Polka Dot Challenge - Say It With Stamps Challenge

If you are looking for Cardztv Stamps Color
Me Happy Challenge go here scroll down!
Welcome to my blog today!
I love Polka Dots so I just had to join in on the fun
for this Challenge at Say It With Stamps.

I had a Winter Stack with some not so traditional colors and it had two
different pieces of Polka Dots.  I've been wanting
to use a new mitten punch I purchased from Stampin Up.
My favorite for Polka Dots is a black and white theme but I
wanted to try something different.
The base of my card is a deep expresso brown.  The first layer is from my
winter paper collection.  I then cut out a tag from a
die from My Creative Time.  I cut it out twice
so I could cut the top off of one and layer it on the
other.  If you don't have a tag die and use a Cricut, the Sweet Treats
cartridge has some great tags!
I added a ribbon and button at the top of the tag.
After I punced out the mittens in two different
patterns, I added a bit of twine.  The sentiment
comes from Cardsztv stamps - Snow Day!
This is a great stamp set and a MUST for your
winter projects.
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to have another post up yet
today as I finished another card!

the inside as well.  I added some stickles to the

Busy Baking and Crafting Day!

Tomorrow starts the Berrien County Youth Fair
and my two grandboys will be showing
their pigs, lambs, steers and heifers.

I have to make them Mimi Cookies which are a
traditional shortbread cookie and I make
the fair president a box all for himself.

Here is photo of his cookies all
spruced up by using the Cricut.  The blue
ribbon is on an Action Wobble!
This is so cute!  I started giving
the President his own cookies last
year and did a similar container.  Thank
goodness I created this on my Gypsy, so I just
had to plug it in and cut again!
Love that Gypsy!

I had the grands a couple of weeks ago for
Camp Mimi and we ran
out of time before all the projects
were complete.  I like to take goody
bags into work for my staff.  I have awesome
people I work with and have been wanting
to treat them, however I have a lot
more employees than before. It takes
me a little longer so I don't do it as
often as I'd like.

FIFTY goody bags filled with Honey Wheat Pretzels dipped
in white and milk chocolate.

The cello bag is from my stash, but 4 pretzels
fit nicely.  The topper was cut at 5x3 inches and scored
in 1/2.  I printed the tag on my
Imagine at 2 inches.  I love my Imagine
but especially today when I have
so many items to make.  I don't do a lot
of printing on it, but I do occasionally
just so the ink doesn't dry out.

I stamped YOU ARE APPRECIATED with a stamp
from My Creative Time.
I simply stapled the topper and glued
the tag on.  Easy Peasy!

And last but not least.........................

a double batch of Mimi Cookies!

I can't wait for tomorrow!  I'm working
until noon and then I'm fair bound.
I plan to take off on Wednesday
all day to watch the boys show.

Thanks for visiting me!

School's Cool! Cricut Cardz Challenge

I made this card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge called "School's Cool".

I used my Gypsy to design this card and I had actually created
one similar to it at the beginning of summer for my
Daughter in law and my BFF.
When I put the card together though the first time, I felt the pencil
was a little too big.  At first it was sized at 4 inches and
I felt that was a bit overpowering for an A2 card.
This time I changed it to
3.5 inches and I wished I had gone to 3.75.  Now you probably
wonder why I'm telling you all this.  Ha ha!
It's my commercial for the Gypsy!  With a couple of clicks
I can completely resize this pencil back to 3.75 for my next card.

I used a summer sun yellow cardstock for my A2 base.
The black layer is cut at 5.25 x 4 inches and then
 run through the Cuttlebug.
The folder is new, but I don't know the name.
It's larger than Swiss Dots,  but that would work.
I cut another strip of summer
 sun at 2.5 x 5.25 and then
used one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches
for the bottom border.  I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress
ink to ink around all edges.  I used a Sizzix embossing
on the pencil and did some highlighting
with my gel pen.  I love this black and white checked
ribbon and I use it alot!  I get it from
Really Reasonable Ribbon
and I have almost all colors.  I had to add the tiny
black buttons - gosh I love these
little guys and I find them at Joann Fabric.  I tied
some black and white twine around the pencil
and used one thickness of foam tape to pop up the
pencil.  The sentiment on the outside and inside of the card
comes from My Creative Time.

I will be sending this card to my oldest grandson as he starts
back to school in about a month.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday to a special BFF!

I have a great BFF at work who is a stylish thing!  She is so young,
 I could be her mom,
yet she never makes me feel old.
She had a birthday this weekend and I just
had to make her a special card.
I love the way it turned out!
The shoes came from "Forever Young" and then
I blinged them up!

Hope you like it, I know she did!
