Time for some sweets!

I got to put together 3 chocolate boxes for Valentines Day over the weekend.  I LOVE using the Hug candy.  I stamped a background design on standard address labels for a quick dash of color and placed them in these neat hinged tins from Papertrey Ink.  I wrapped a band around the containers and added a sentiment and don't they look cute?  I still have little gifts to do the for the grandboys but I will work on that this weekend.  These were a quick and easy project.  The designs I used to stamp on the address labels are stamps from Papertrey Ink.  I also see that Stampin Up has a set of these too!  I have another project I did with Hershey Hugs and will share soon!

After I clean, I'm more creative!

Anyone else feel that sometimes you are just moving your "stuff" in your craft room from one place to another?  Well, I've felt like that since before the holidays.  Yesterday my sweet hubby helped me clean my closet area so I could neatly store some items and pitch other things I never use.  Then I took the time to put away all my scraps, stamps sets, inks etc so I could once again have a clean area to work.  I made two cards today and I think I like them :)

This first one is for my GREAT grandson Jaxon who turns one.  The elephant is cute from the Birthday Bash cartridge and he is mounted on an action wobble.  The sentiment comes from My Pink Stamper's line of stamps and it's called Sweet Baby.  I am so glad I invested in this set!  Love that I could put "Happy 1st Birthday" instead of just Happy Birthday.  I truly love Robyn's line of stamps and use them often.  I do think good quality supplies ARE an investment in our craft.  Robyn's clear stamps rank at the top for quality.  The image is crisp and clear and they clean up like a breeze.  Check out her site at www.mypinkstamper.com.  Robyn has great videos on her site as well as a listing of all of her products.

The second card is for a wedding reception this afternoon.  The old style car is cut from the Wedding cartridge.  I have in my Gypsy this round card that I created by welding two scalloped circles together.  Many of you may have a cartridge with this type of card already done, but I have used this one so often I just know how it cuts out.  Not sure if you can see but I added some yellow "lights" which were not part of the cut.  I just glued two little scraps on the inside and then used some stickles to make them glimmer.  My pearl stash is severely depleted since Christmas as I would have rather put smaller pearls, but I had to use what I had.  The sentiment on the inside is from Stampin Up and it's perfect for this card.  This is a second marriage for both and they are an older couple so it's a great way to say congratulations.  I love the ribbon I used on this card.  It came from Really Reasonable Ribbon and it was in my monthly shipment.  So cute!  Love their ribbon.

Well that's all for today.  Hope you are keeping warm during this nippy time of year!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stocking up the stash!

Coming back from vacation I had plenty of time in the car so I whipped out my Gypsy and began to design this card.  The snowflake is cut from the Imagine Snow Angels cartridge.  I cut the entire image at 3.5  and then "split" the image out in layers and cut the center out seperately and then popped it up to add dimension.  The card base is black.  The white layer is 4x5.25.  I ran it through the Cuttlebug using the snowflake folder.  I then pulled out my scraps and added some strips on the bottom/side of the card so I could stamp a sentiment.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time stamp line and it's called Wow, So Many Candles.  If you are one of my blog followers, you know I love Emma's stamps!  The checked ribbon just came in from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I get an assortment each month from them, but they were having a sale so I just to cash in on the savings and place an additional order.  Isn't this checked ribbon to die for?

I added some pearls on the snowflake which I think really made this card.  I love pearls but I am running low so I couldn't put as many as I wanted to.  If any of you are reading this and have a great source for pearls, let me know!  They are my embellishment of choice right now so I need a source! Ha ha.

Thanks for taking time to take a peek at my blog!  I love your comments and would also love an invitation to your blog!

Dressing up my Iphone!

I love Pinterest and before the holidays I saw the idea of cutting paper liners out and placing them in an Iphone jacket with the clear back.  It was a fun and unique idea but I didn't have time to do it.  I am the person who loves the Miche bag because I can change the shells, I love seasonal decor etc.  So why NOT change up my phone.

After I had them cut out I decided to add a little inspiration by using My Creative Time Encouraging Quotes & Words by stamping on the back.  I love how they turned out.  I am sure I will continue to cut out my favorite papers and add some other wording but I feel like I just got a NEW phone!

Check out www.creativetimeforme.com for all of Emma's products!  Her stuff is awesome!

Welcome to my blog for the first post in 2012!  It seems forever since I've posted anything, but this year the holidays for me were spent with my grandsons who go to FL every year!  I wanted to be a part of their holiday once while I was still the "cool" grandma!  You know, it won't be long until I may see eyes rolling and those looks!  Well today I needed some thank you notes and birthday cards.  For the thank you notes, I picked up these premade 3x3 notes last year on clearance at Michaels.  I LOVE THESE!  Such a cute, quick note and all I had to do was add the stamped message!

The first sentiment comes from My Creative Time's stamp line.  The second and third are from Robin's Nest.  One of the reasons I love clear polymere stamps is that I can SE where it will be on my paper and what size is the best!  I'm totally in love with clear stamps and although I have a HUGE inventory of SU stamps from years of stamping, I almost always reach for the clear stamps first.

My second project today was to make a couple of birthday cards.  I didn't make as many as I need but it's a start.  The little guy is cut from my Imagine.  When you need a quick card or image you just can't beat the Imagine.

The Snow Angel was cut at 3.5 inches from the Imagine Snow Angel cartridge.  I cut the whole image and then cut out layers of the boots and the shirt.  I find that just popping up a couple of layers adds so much dimension.  What you can't see is that this image in mounted on an action wobble.  I love them!  The layer behind the angel is cut from Elegant Edges.  I used a couple of different Cuttlebug embossing folders for the brown base.  I only embossed 3/4 of the layer so I could stamp and emboss with white embossing powder the sentiment.  All of the sentiments came from My Creative Time's stamp line.  They ink up beautifully and clean up like a breeze even after using heaving craft innk.  I used a little strip of ribbon from my stash to cover the line where I embossed with the folder and left it plain.  At least this is a start to getting some cards done, but I plan on doing more this week.

Thanks for visiting and sharing in some crafty fun!  I have to go and write my thank you notes now.  I go back to work tomorrow after being off for almost 1 1/2 weeks!  Hope I remember my job!
