Get well!

I needed a couple of get well cards and I used the small 3x3 cards for inspiration that I made over the weekend.  The black and white paper was printed with my Cricut Imagine using the Theresa Collins Black and White cartridge.   I LOVE THAT CARTRIDGE!  The best part was these papers were in my scrap drawer so it didn't me long at all to whip these up.  I used the Swiss Dots folder to emboss the white layer and cut the butterfly with my Martha Stewart Punch.  I added a tiny white pearl on each butterfly and three more pearls on the left side of the ribbon for balance.  The stamp comes from Pain, Pain, Go Away set!  Isn't this classy? I love it!

Okay, now my next project - a male birthday card!  HELP!  Invite me to your blog to see what you have created.  I really struggle with masculine cards.

More tiny notes!

I really love to make these little cards.  I had another idea this afternoon and couldn't wait to give it a try.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch.  The pig and chicken are Papertrey Ink's Dies.  These turned out really cute.  I used Cardztv Stamps, My Creative Time Stamps, & K Andrew Design stamps to complete them.

If you haven't seen any of my posts before, I love to make multiple cards using the same design but different sentiments.  I use a lot of Thank you notes.  It seems the art of writing notes is going away and I want to bring it back.  I know it's easier to write an email or place a call, but nothing says "thank you" like a hand written note.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

3x3 Thank you Notes!

I am happy I got some craft time in yesterday.  I needed to make some thank you notes and I knew in my mind what I wanted to do but I couldn't wait to see the finished product.

I love to use Kraft colored paper and when you cut a 12x12 sheet of paper into cards that are 3x6 inches, you can cut a lot in one setting.  I used all of My Creative Time products and if you are not familiar with Emma's talent, check it out at

I love everything about this simple card!  I made about 20 cards in one evening.  I did add some Glossy Accents on the flower petals to give them some dimension.  I also used my White Gel pen on the flower and on the scalloped edge.  I deciced to not use any ribbon or buttons which is unusual for me but I like how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I pray you are having a great weekend with family and friends as we all remember the reason for Memorial Day.

Teacher Appreciation

Where would we be without teachers?  My bestie started out teaching and is now a school psychologist.  My daughter-in-law is a teacher and works so hard during the day and then comes home to take care of my precious grandsons.  My youngest grandson graduates from Kindergarten this coming week and I decided to make some goody bags for both Trent and Drew to give their teachers for year end. I love the Nugget candy for goody bags.  Just cut a strip of paper 1x3 inches and wrap around.  Five pieces of candy fit into this clear cello bag I purchased from .  The black topper is cut at 3.5 x 5 inches.  I used Cricut Cut Search (look for the button on my blog) to find an apple.  This was cut from Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge.  I used my Gypsy to size the image at 3.5.  I copied this image four times on my mat, but had to cut out the apple and the books a few tims to get the other colors.  I used my white gel pen to write Math, Spelling, & Reading on the books and I also added a little white to the apples.  The green "mat" that I used on the front and back of the topper are from my Imagine.  This is the stock mat and I color filled it in from one of my Imagine cartridges.  This mat is the perfect size for topper and I usually just fill a whole page when I need a couple.  I used My Creative Time's My Teacher Rocks Stamp set.  I just purchased this set and I love it.  I stapled the topper and added the mat and finishing touches on the front.  Then I flipped it over and used another stamp from this set and stamped FROM so the boys can sign their name.  I think this turned out super cute.

I needed some craft time today.  Yesterday I found out one of my brother's passed away.  Even though he has been in the hospital and quite ill, I just was not expecting him to die.  We were not close and really never have been but knowing he is gone leaves a real sadness in my heart.  I pray he is now at peace and having a wonderful family reunion with my dad and mom in heaven.

Give your loved ones a hug today or call them.  Time flies.

Time to declutter and clean!

I look forward to Sunday afternoons so I can get into my craft room and create.  I knew today needed to be different.  My loft (where I craft) was a mess.  I had made several cards, made cuts with my cricut, and had a total mess.  Not sure about you, but I can't be creative when I'm looking at a mess.  So even though I needed some birthday cards today, I decided to clean. All of my scraps are put away, my two trash baskets are empty, stamps and ink pads are put away and my carpet is swept.  Then since everything looked pretty tidy, I tackled one more task.  All of my Cricut and Imagine mats weren't sticky anymore, so I cleaned them all and then used my Zip two-way glue pen to restick my mats.  This is what my floor looked like this afternoon.

I even re-stuck my big 12x24 mats.  I'm ready for anything!

I was looking at my table and decided I needed a holder for my two ATG guns.  I had seen a couple of them on the internet but I hated to spend money on them, so I asked my personal Mr. Fix It, my hubby Bruce to make me something.  Look what he came up with!

This works wonderful!  It gets both of them OFF my desk but handily at my side.

So even though I didn't create anything, I still got a lot accomplished.  Maybe I won't be so pooped this week and I can create after work some night.

Thanks for checking out my blog.  Happy day!

You gotta love a Teacher!

My BFF is in education and my Daughter-in-law is a teacher.  Emma from has a great stamp set to show teachers how much you appreciate them.  I fell in love with this set and just had to make a couple of cards.  I cut the pencil out of Smiley Cards.  I cut it out at 5 inches and it fits on the card both portrait and landscape.  The first card pictured has the sentiment, "Three perfect reasons to be a teacher, June, July and August".  OMG, I love that!  I'm giving this one to my DIL!  She lives for the summer so she can just be a mom!  She is so special. I am so blessed that my son chose her to be in the family.  The other card is for my BFF who now counsels children.  She is awesome!  Education has been her career for years and I think the children of my community have been so lucky to have had them in her life.
On the first card, I used one of my FAVORITE Martha Stewart punches.  I love this punch.  The edges have been inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye and it lends a very gentle color.  Tiny black buttons (from Joann Fabric) were also used.  I love these little tiny guys.  I used my white gel pen to do some stitching on the pencil.  My favorite thing I used on this card was my Cuttlebug.  Look at the grooves in the pencil?  Doesn't that look real?  Black plaid ribbon and twine add some finishing touches.

I hope you enjoy these cards!  Thanks for stopping by!
