Birthday card for a special friend!

I have a friend with a BIG birthday coming up and so I tried to get creative today.  It turned out real cute.  Of course used My Pink Stampers Pinkalicious stamp set, my Cricut (Forever Young), cuttlebug and my paper stash.  Didn't take long to make but it came out cute.  Enjoy!

Another floral card.....it's gorgeous!

I made a spring card for My Pinkolicious Blog Hop on the weekend.  I had some leaves left over and I couldn't stop thinking about those darn leaves, so I made a few more cards.  It seems that I never have sympathy cards when I need them, so instead of different sentiments for different occasions (the way I usually make cards) I made these all sympathy cards.  The sentiment is one from a set I bought at Michael's.  It is nice and big so I can create many different sentiments if I want.  This time for the flowers I cut them all out of white paper, sponged the edges with some Tim Holtz ink, curled the edges with the bend of a pen, used a brown brad in the center, then glittered them with just a hint.  Oh I forgot, I also "spritzed" these with glimmer mist.  I wanted a more monochromatic card.  The ribbon is from my Really Reasonable Ribbon stash.  Glue dots secured the leaves and then I used pop dots to affix the flower.  I did the layers on the flower with glue dots just like in my previous post.  The first white layer was created with the Cuttlebug and I used foam tape to pop up the entire layer and give it some dimension.  You can see that no flower is the same.  I used my 12x24 mat and cut all the flower pieces using Mother's Day Bouquet.  I started at 2 1/2 inches and worked down to 1 inch in the center.  You can add as many layers as you like.  This is a fun cartridge and I can see that I will use this over and over again.  The leaves were also cut with the same cartridge.  Before assembly I did use shimmer mist to add some sparkle.  I hope you like this set of cards.  I think they came out lovely!

If you came for the blog hop, just go down one post and you will see what I made for it.  If you stumbled upon my blog, grab a cup of tea and stay awhile.  I'd love to have you become a follower and leave me a comment.

Pink Stamper Blog Hop!

It seems like forever since I've had the time and energy to go into my loft and craft.  Robyn's blog hop was just what I needed to get me off by butt!  Ha ha!  This was a fun card as I used the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge and just cut out several images.  I will post the rest of the cards I made (total of 6, all different sayings, but used the same paper and the same idea) at the end of this message.  I have to say that I LOVE glue dots!  They are perfect to use when I'm layering images such as this flower.  I also "spritzed" the petals and leaves and dried them with my embossing gun.  I curled the leaves and petals with a pen giving them a little more dimension.  Not sure if you can see, but I also used the Cuttlebug to dry emboss the white background paper.  I love Really Reasonable Ribbon and when it came on Thursday, I knew I'd be using it all up.  I love purple and this assortment is just beautiful!  So I glad I joined that club as I get a great little package every month.  The Sentiment is Robyn's and it fits so well with the image.  I finished it off with 3 rhinestones.  When I go into Michael's I really go through the $1 bins and find most of my embellishments for a buck!  When the grandkids visit they love to use them too and I can be generous when I only spent a buck!

I hope you are enjoying the hop!  just think of the great cardio workout we are all getting!  I love comments and plan to stay a while and look around.  Join in on the fun!

If you've followed my blog before, you know I make multiple cards at a time.  I figure if I'm going to figure out the colors and what I'm going to do, I can make several cards at a time.  If you look closely you will see they all look similiar but have different wording.  I needed a get well but wanted it to look bright!  I love spring and will send these out to my BFF's.  I never have enough birthday cards and am always glad to have a stash to go to when I need a BD or other card in a hurry!  I hope you enjoyed my post!
