Hoppy Easter!

As far back as I can remember, my mother always put together Easter Baskets for us kids.  I come from a family of four.  I was the only girl and the baby of the family.  Easter was a special time for us all.  We would go to Sunrise Service together as a family and Mom always made sure I had a Easter dress and hat.  When we came home, we stayed in our good clothes and took a family photo out by our front porch.  It was fun to see how the family grew.  Before long it was time for Mom to make Easter Baskets for the grandkids.  She kept it up even the year she passed away.  She died 2 weeks before Easter and as we were preparing for the funeral we found all the candy and baskets that she had purchased and put away for our family dinner.  That was a special Easter in deed.
Today after I finished in the kitchen I went to my craft area to make something for my own grandchildren.  I had no idea what to make, but I knew I had plently of candy :).  I decided to make goodie bags inside a BIG goodie bag for each of my grandsons.  I used the Cricut Holiday Cake cartridge for the font.  I did this on my Gypsy and it welded together like a DREAM!  I was so happy with the scripting.  I think I see bookmarks in the boys future!  Not sure it is showing up, but I took a white gel pen and dotted or drew stiching lines on the names.

I had several kinds of candy so it made sense to do some mini goodie bags and place them inside of the bigger bag.  I picked up some really cute stickers at some point along the way and adding them on the toppers made this a very easy project.  I used three stamp sets from My Creative Time.  Click here to shop: www.creativetimeforme.com and see what Emma has put together.  I've been purchasing her stamps from the beginning and I reach for them time and time again.  The saying are adoreable and they stamp with precision and clarity.  You will love her products.

For my oldest son I made his favorite, Texas Dip!  This is a stinkin' easy 7 layer dip to eat with nachos.  He loves it and I like to make it for him when I get a chance.  I used to make it on two large plastic circle trays and then I found these smaller platters.  I now make one recipe and it fits on four of these trays.  This way we can eat one and I can give one or two to my son for later and I can also take one to work.  Everyone is a winner!

Now I'd like to thank you for visiting my blog today.  I also want to wish you a very Happy Easter.
Have a safe and restful weekend and let us all remember the real reason we celebrate Easter.
Praise the Lord.
