All Blinged up!

Tonight I finished my thank you notes.  Aren't they cute?  If you compare last night's photos and tonights you will see a slight difference.  I added some bling and stickles.  I also did some sponging around the edges of the fruit, the layered piece and the card itselft.  Each piece of the layered fruit was sponged before I assembled them.  To me it is always amazing to see what a couple more steps will mean in your finished creation.  Many times I finish a card, stand back and look at it and then I normally will add something!  These little 3x3 cards are so cute and easy to make.  I hope you will give it a shot.  The idea came from My Creative Time (Emma).  I used My Pink Stamper stamps for the sentiment on each.  Thanks for looking!

Tiny 3x3 Thank you notes! Yummy!

My husband is having a total knee replacement next week, so I thought I would take some time to make up a few thank you notes that I will be able to use for hospital staff and friends who might stop by to see him.  I used my Pink Stamper's Fruit and Veggie Puns for the sentiment and Preserves cartridge.  I cut them all out on my Imagine so it didn't take long to do the colors.  Love my Imagine.  The inspiration came from My Creative Time as her post today was 3x3 cards.  I used Kraft paper for the base and some stock paper stack, popped up the fruit and added some twine.  I may still add some stickles but I wanted to try and post pictures before I head to bed.

It's a BEAUTIFUL day!

I cannot think of a more beautiful day than today is here in Indiana.  Mild temps, sunny and blue skies, Sunday afternoon to rest and recuperate for the week ahead, party time yesterday with good friends, and church this morning.  I am feeling very blessed today!  In less than two weeks, my husband will have a knee replacement so I'm not sure how much crafting I will get done.  That's okay!  Family is first!  I may need to work a shorter day while he is recuperating but I feel totally blessed that I have a job that I do that.  For those of you who are spiritual, I would love prayer for a rapid recovery on his part.  He is so healthly, I feel sure he will do great!

I may post a project later today, but if not, I hope and pray you all are enjoying and feel blessed on this day!

Father's Day Inspiration!

I spent some time over the weekend looking at some very talented cardmakers and one I found whose name is Mary from http://cardztv.blogspot.com/.  Mary did an adoreable Father's Day card and I used it for inspiration.  This was such a fun card to create.  It is an S shaped card and I used the Create a Critter cartridge and tried to at least get the coloring for my little Schnauzer.  I even put a pink collar on her with a little bit of stickles to make it pop.  I also used some black stickles on the nose and eyes.  I love black and pink!  I just think the combinationn is stunning.  I picked up a black and white paper pack on Saturday at Big Lots and it was the perfect back drop for this card.  I typed the sentiment on the computer, printed it out on regular paper and backed it with back to make it stand out.  The Font is called Lovitz and I just think it turned out great. Thank you Mary!  Loved the idea and I really think Papa will like it too.

My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge

Sweet Emma challenged us to use a lite cartrige or an OLDER cartridge and we had to bling it up!  My great granddaughter turned 3 this weekend so I pulled out Hello Kitty (one of the first cartridges I purchased) and made this cute little card.  I actually used the card feature and cut the kitty out as a card and then placed it on several layers of paper to create this look.  I used stickles on the eyes, center of the top flower and on the whiskers.  I used my pen to do some stitching on the white fur.  You can't see it but I also used my white gel pen to do the stitching on the pink clothes.  I added a dimensional flower on top of the flower that Kitty is holding.  I used an sentiment from My Creative Time "Too Many Candles" for the inside of the card.  Love how this turned out.  I think the Kitty was cut at 4 inches and I used my Imagine for a time saving card.  Also used my Cuttlebug and several other layers of paper and ribbon from my stash.  You can see the Kitty card is actually popped up on the card base.  Fun and Easy!  Thanks for the challenge Emma!

My Pink Stamper Blog Hop

Robyn's challenge for this hop was "something summer".  Nothing says summer to be as much as all the frest produce in the store.  I used the PRESERVES cricut cartrige and cut this out on my Imagine at 3.8.  LOVE the Imagine when I'm working on something quick and do not want to take the time to locate all the colors of paper.  What a wonderful machine.  I used my Cuttlebug to dry emboss the first layer as the pears went perfectly with this cut.  Of course I just HAD to use (LOL) a Martha Stewart punch and the ribbon came from my stash.  I made a couple of versions of this card (if you've read my blog, you know I like to make multiples of cards as I can always use them AND I have already taken the time to find the cartridge, the paper, and decided on how I wanted it to look - I think this is called multitasking :)).  The ribbon is from my stash  The pear was popped up to add dimension and I do think it turned out cute!  Thanks for looking at my blog.  If you are new WELCOME, stay around and take a peak at my other creations.  If you are returning stamping/paper crafting friend - it's great to see you again.  Thanks Robyn for the chance to celebrate summer! Guest Designer for My Creative Time!

I'm so honored that Emma ask me create something for her.  I love My Creative Time Stamps and I think I counted that I own seven sets now.  The sentiment is from Turn That Frown Upside Down and I had to have this set when I read "you are my sunshine".  I sang this to my "baby" who is now 32 years old.  He remembers me singing it to him and once he caught me singing it to his nephew and remarked that he loved it when I sang to him.  So............................................I HAD TO HAVE THIS SET!  I love that this entire group of stamps is positive, positive, positive and sometimes I just want to send a card for the fun of it and these speak to me.  The sun was cut from Simply Charmed and instead of cutting out the face layer I used my Peachy Keen stamps for the face!  Love the little rouge effect!  The printed paper is from my stash and then I just starting pulling paper that seemed to go together.  The card base is a Rose Red, then a light blue and the printed paper, grograin ribbon and the sun was popped up.  I really DIG the cool shades, don't you?
It seems like I'm always making birthday cards and when I saw this saying in Wow! So Many Candles, I laughed and laughed.  At my age, the words are REALLY true.  You just gotta love Forever Young for these cute little chicks!  I don't even think "back in the day" I ever looked this stylish, but a girl can dream!  The card base is Stampin Up Bashful Blue, then a small layer of black and SU Wild Wasabi on top.  I love my Cuttlebug and use the Swiss Dots folder to give the green some dimension.  Then a small strip of Bashful Blue with the top and bottom edges punched with one of fav punches.  I used a plain white satin ribbon dotted with Platinum Pearl Liquid Pearls.  Part of the creative process is for me to stand back and look at my finished product and many times I can see it just needs something else.  This is the first time I've used the pearls and i did like the effect.

I hope you enjoy!  I love comments, so grab a cup of coffee or a glass of sweet tea and stay awhile!  Thank you Emma for letting me share!  My two newest purchases from Emma are Pain Pain Go Away (I'm a nurse so I can always use these) and So Grateful for You.  Life is too short to not say thank you!  You know I really think those of us that make cards, we like to send them and I must say that most people remark how happy they are to recieve a card as we just don't send them like we used to.  We use email, the phone or the internet and it truly is becoming a lost art.  So, go ahead and make a card and send it for any old reason.  Your friends will love it!  Have a great day!  Mimi

Sunday Afternoon FUN!

It seems like it's been forever since I've been in my loft crafting.  It really has only been a week, but last Sunday I was only doing odds and ends and today I finished up several projects.  Doing this always makes me feel like I've really accomplished something.  I needed to send out several thank you notes this week to my friends.  I had a procedure over a week ago and the results where wonderful, but I was very worried.  My wonderful support staff of family and friends carried me through.  I made this card entirely on my Imagine.  I needed something quick and easy and this fit the bill.  I did cut an "extra" turtle out so I could pop it up.  I used a My Creative Time image for the inside of my card which left me a lot of room to write out my note.  I love Emma's stamps!  First of all they are clear so it's easy to place them where you want them.  Also they stamp beautiful and clean up like a dream.  You can always tell they are the high quality stamps and I appreciate her talent so much!

Then I needed to put these goody bags together for my office staff.  I had cut out all the parts last week, but I picked up the candy at Sam's club on Saturday so I could finish them.

Sorry for the first image being on it's side!  For some reason it's not letting me rotate the image.  Anyway this is another project completed with my Imagine.  The candy image was cut from Yummy and then I sprayed two pieces of 12x12 paper with coordinating paper that I used to wrap around the Nugget candy pieces.  Cut these @ 1x3 inch strips and they work great.  I also used one of the "stock" images on the Imagine for the dotted background piece.  I LOVE this image.  I used a 3 1/2 inch bag to place the three candy pieces inside and the black topper was cut at 4 x 3.25.  This is a great size and as you can see the basket looks great for my treat tomorrow at work.  I had just gotten in Emma's (My Creative Time) Thank you set, so the You're appreciated was a great saying for what I wanted.  Since I was on a roll, I made the next batch and placed them in the freezer.  Here's how they came out.

Again, all done on the Imgine, so a very simply project.  Instead of "spraying" a page of paper for the pinkish color, I used one of my image stamps to make the other paper.  I really like the four nuggets in the bag better!  And on most days, I think my staff may need 4 pieces of chocolate!

I needed a birthday card for a male and I always struggle with these, however this one came out cute.  Again, I used my Imagine and My Pink Stamper's stamps for the sentiment.  Robyn also carries a great line of stamps and I am mostly using her stamps and Emma's exclusively when I make cards.
Then to finish up (see I told you I got a lot done!) are a couple more cards that I needed.

Again I used My Creative Time stamps for both of these cards.  I do like to sponge the edges of my images and my layers but I'm not sure that shows up a lot.  It just seems to add dimension.

I must say it would really be difficult for me to make a card without my Cuttlebug.  As you can see, I used it on almost all my cards today.  I do not have a TON of embossing folders but I have ones that I like and use all the time.  Pop dots are a must I think when you are making cards.  Get yourself some great sentiment stamps like Emma and Robyn create and you will be good to go!  Notice the green image behind the apples is the same one that I used on the goody bags.  I just made it a little bigger and a different color.  This truly is a great background.

I hope your Sunday afternoon was as great as mine.  Have a blessed week and hopefully I will be back soon.
